I have 2 new kits for you today.

The first one is My Life which is a kit created especially for Project 12. So, what is Project 12? It is like Project 365, but instead of daily photos with journaling, it is doing a 2 page layout each month of the year. Much simpler than trying to remember to take a photo a day and then putting them in layouts weekly. I did Project 365 for 2 year and managed to complete only one of the 2 years only because I used products/templates created to help me complete it easily.

"My Life" is a kit that has 24 elements and 24 papers....12 patterned so that you have one for each month of the year and then 12 plain papers to mix and match with the patterned ones. I created this kit so that *I* could complete my book easily this year. Also this kit was made to compliment my templates (see below).

It's been awhile since I posted anything....I've been under the weather for a bit and hopefully I am all done with that for awhile!

This morning I got an e-mail from Snapfish and when I went to their site, I saw that their flat Christmas Cards are "buy one set and get another set free". I usually wait to make my card till after we have that Christmas tree up so that I can take it with that in the background. I decided to get this done early this year....so instead used photos I already had. This is the card I came up with. It you like it, I made a 4x8 inch quick page out of it for you (along with the template I created for it).

Wed, Sept 7...rain, rain, go AWAY!

We have has lots of rain the last few days, so the river has been high....last night into this morning we got almost 3 inches again. I decided to walk down to the river (1/2 mile away) to see if it was flooding again. Sure enough....it is flooding, but not as high as with Irene yet. I pray that it stopped and there is no more flood damage to areas that are already devistated.

I could not get photos from on the bridge or looking north as they were working there yet.

Our little river in our back yard. The folks who built the house made the area between the 2 properties lower so that water would flow between them.

My flooded garden. The area that is the worst is where the cucumber used to be, but for some reason died before Irene. You can see part of the watermelon floating.

This is the area behind our property....I can see why we get a river between the properties. It seems that this point is the low point so it all flows there. This area was made into a cow pasture last year. Before that it was all wooded.

This is the river now that it has gone done....leaving behind all those stones in what used to be a meadow.

The hole at the side of the bridge....there is nothing underneath parts of it either.....
Monday, Sept 5.....the hole is now fixed, but they still have work under the bridge to do.

Heavy equipment down in the river to help fix up the lower part of the bridge.

Our local park....the baseball field is totally destroyed.....
The playground is moved and will need to be fixed as well.

Design Factor #5 - Blog Train!!

Welcome to the first DigiScrap Connect Blog Train! This blog train is comprised of 24 fabulous designers who have been participating in the Design Factor Challenge the last 5 weeks.

For our 5th challenge, we were required to make an element pack using CU items. Since 1/2 of the items for all the minis would be coming from the Scrap Matter great challenge freebies, we were worried that we were all going to have flowers, ribbons and sting coming out of our ears with this cahllenge. :) We decided to have fun with it and turn it into a great Blog Train by adding some fabulous papers as well. Flowers, Ribbons, and String Oh My!! the blog train was born.

My new challenges over at sKrap Happens and Scrappy DoSigners have started!! Check out all the fun at both sites.

If you like templates, I run the template challenge over at sKrap Happens. Here is the template we are using this month. If you want it, go HERE to pick it up. If you complete the challenge over at sKrap Happens, you will recieve 2 beans if you use our products or 1 bean if you use other products. Each bean is worth 10 cents and you can accumulate up to 50 before having to cash them in (50 beans = a $5 gift certificate to the store).

Here is my LO using this template. I used my kits "Sewn With Love" and "Sewn With Love II" to make it. The first kit will be released by June3 and the second one by the middle of the month. The photos are of my little man. He now loves to do silly poses for the camera so it is getting hard to get a really nice one of him.

My second challenge over at sKrap Happens is called Special Blend and if you do all the challenge here, you will complete a book in a year. I am making a family book for 2011...1-2 sets of pages a month. Here are our pages for May.

Over at Scrappy DoSigners I am doing the progressive challenge from June 1-15. I just posted the first set of instructions. The prize for doing this challenge is posted in the previous blog post.

Now for the freebie....This is a QP made from my new kits "Sewn With Love" and "Sewn With Love II" These kits were inspired by grammadiane who responded to my challenge to 'create your own kit'. Diane posted a color palate and a theme (sewing). Her mom (who is in her 90s!!) like to do cross-stiching and embroidery to occupy her time and Diane wanted a kit to use when scrapping photos of her.

Over at sKrap Happens I posted a special challenge at the end of last month in which members posted a color palate and a theme for a scrap kit. At the beginning of the month I chose one of the ideas. The winner was grammadiane and she chose a sewing theme for this kit (she will recieved this kit as the prize for winning). This kit will hopefully be release by the end of next week, but here is a sneak peek at the kit I created for Diane...."Sewn With Love". This kit will have a second part wich I project to be released by June 15 and will be called "Sewn With Love II".

A new store....Yes, I will be selling at TWO stores now. Hopefully my new store at Scrappy DoSigners will be opening up soon.

A Challenge....I will be doing a different challenge over at Scrappy DoSigners every month. For JUNE I will be hosting the progressive challenge from June 1-15. The instructions will be posted on June 1, 4, 7 and 10. To recieve the participation prize, the LO must be posted in the forum thread by June 15. Here is a paper pack that I made . The 4 middle papers were made using Mega-Doodle Inspired's Pattern Set 3. This pattern set is very easy to use. In the download are included not only the overlays, but also a layered psd file to make it even easier to use!

Lil' fish and Charity kits

Making little fish is so much fun...especially when you find a template to help you make them! Here is a cute fish and a fish frame that I made using Mega-Doodle Indspired's CU Fish Template. This template was so easy to use as the file has both the layered template (which is what I use) as well as all the parts in separate files. I also used her awesome Transparent Puffy Sticker Action on the single fish.

If you like my little fish, they will be in my portion of the Bringing Anderson Home Charity Collab kit )which should be coming out at the end of July or beginning of Aug). This awesome charity kit will benefit my friend Kim as she and her family adopt little Anderson who is currently in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Anderson is about 18 months old and is in the same orphanage as our son Clarence (who is 2).

Here is the preview of my portion of the kit (the theme of the kit is tropics/travel/Haiti). The little family on the bottom represents MY family.

Bringing Anderson Home is actually the SECOND kit to benefit Anderson's family. The first kit, Hope For Anderson, is already for sale at Digital Scrap Garden for $10. This kit is HUGE with over 100 papers, over 250 elements and 9 templates. I will be adding 2 QP sets to the store soon.

I recently go the CU Puffy Transparent Sticker action from Mega Doodle Indspired and I love it!! The action is very easy to used in PSE 7. To install it, I just followed the direction for installing an Atomic Cupcake action. To play the action, you just go to guided action, select play action and then select the action and hit play.

To check out the action, I first made a little 'I love Haiti' sticker my portions for Collab Charity kit "Bringing Anderson Home" (which will come out either at the end of July or at the beginning of Aug).

Lots of changes!

There have been lots of changes since I last posted here. Hard to believe that it has been over 6 MONTHS.

Anyway, since that time I have quit ALL of my CTs so that I could focus on scrapping books for my kids (the actual purpose of scrapping!). Anyway, in March I decided to try making a kit of my own for the Color Challenge as Digital Scrap Garden (my scrapping home) and after making that I was told that if I ever wanted to try to design I was welcome as a designer there.

After much thought on this, I decided to go ahead and jump in...and am LOVING it! Here are some of the kits I have done so far (you can get them in my store):

The first 2 I did, were done for my friend Nancy. She is making some scrapbook for some babies from China that are at a special home there. She requested some China style kits to do her scrapping with.

This kit came to be with I saw the cute little princess drawings that Melody was doing. The princess with the crown is a copy of the original one that she did.
This kit started out as my first freebie for the May Color Challange at DSG. I changed stuff and added other things to create this one.

Project 12 is going to be a set of 12 + kits to help you scrap books both for you and you kids. These are what I am using to make my kid's 2010 books. They include a double template as well as a QP to make your scrapping easier.

Holly Jolly is a Christmas kit that is collab between Dylabel Designs and geniaBean Scraps.

The LO I created is of Emily while putting up our Christmas tree this year.This next one is made for Hanukkah, but is also perfect for any winter/snow photos.

Here is my LO....Steven last winter. The snow was usually too deep for his short little legs, so he did not like it at all.
This next one - Harvest Blessings - is a fall/Thanksgiving kit.
My LO is of our family at Thanksgiving this year.

Now for a few older ones...I did not have time to post these before, but want to get them posted.

Lotta Boy Toys is a fun, bright kit for all thos boy photos.
Here are my kids playing in the wagon back shortly after Steven first arrived home.

Ahhh...I love this one!! How Berry Sweet is a great kit for all thos summer photos.
My LO is of my 2 girls when they were little. This was shortly after Melody arrived...she sure loved it when Emily would spin her around in that chair.

This one - Be the Change - is part of a larger collab kit from GDS. Many of the designers all made kits from the same color palate so that you can buy the ones you want and they all match.
This was one of the harder things to scrap, but needed to be done. This is Steven shortly after he had his lip revision/nose lift.

Challenge 6 and Cheri's Challenge 5

Challenge 6 is easy for me ... it's a "road block" meaning only one of us completes it and Wendy is the one making the LO. She has to scraplift one of the LO in a gallery of mine with a twist ... she is to flip it either horizontally or vertically and then rotate it 45 degrees. She also has to use the exact same number of elements that I did. Wendy already sent me a preview and it is looking great but she does have to edit one or two things. I'm sure she will post her LO as soon as it is done. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product!

As Wendy said, the LO for Challege 5 was to contain 3 frames but NO photos. I had to think for a while about this and finally came up with an incident that I recorded in my journal almost 2 years ago but had no photos of. This was certainly a fun challenge and encourages me to scrap about events for which photos aren't available.

March 31, 2007
While out dirtbiking, the chain on Mike’s
bike broke. We figured we could either
try to walk several miles back to our camper
or try to both fit on my small pit bike.
Amazingly, we both fit. I sat as far
forward as possible and Mike sat behind
me and steered, braked, etc. I held on
to the middle of the handle bars but had
to relax and leave the steering and
running of the bike to Mike. He told me
when he wanted me to shift gears but that
was all I could do.

Life is so much like this ride ... God is the
one in control -- steering, guiding,
determining speed and braking. When I try
to control things, I am frequently fighting
him. He may choose a different path around
an obstacle than I would. If I relax and follow
His leading the trip may be uncomfortable
at times but it will also be enjoyable and draw
me closer to Him.

ADSR4 Challenge 5 (No photo LO)

Requirements: create a layout that has no photos on it, but includes at least 3 different and separate photo frames.

At first glance my LO look more like a fantasy LO, but it contains a real story and is made to look like a photo that was taken but is now missing (never to be seen again…lost in digiland) of my two daughters in front of Cinderella’s Castle located in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. The cats represent my older daughter’s favorite kitty (we have 2 Himalayans cats) and my younger daughter’s favorite stuffed cat (it actually looks just like the kitty doodle!).

February 2007 Disaster strikes when I accidentally pull on the cord of my computer tower while pulling out crates from behind my desk. My tower topples over and since it was on, the hard drive crashes and is a total loss. My computer was really old and the CD writer no longer worked so I had not been able to back up my photos for about 18 months. All it took was one second and they were gone, including the photos from our first visit to Disney World and photos of the girls in front of Cinderella’s castle.

I'm so glad to see that Wendy is occasionally posting here. I think I'm the world's worst blogger since I haven't posted in 4-6 months ... I've been way too busy with work and life in general. This is something I hope to change. I'm undergoing significant changes at work and am waiting to see what the future holds. Anyway ... as Wendy said, we've signed up to participate in the ADSR and are having a blast! Our pupose in signing up was to stretch our scrapping abilities and that is definitely happening. We've made it through week 2 ... the last challenge was the "art and soul" challenge in which we had to use at least 3 artsy items (altered art, paint, brushes, glitter spatters, etc) and journal about something meaningful to us. This definitely challenged both of us but we had a great time doing it. Here is my LO for challenge #4 -- An Amazing Promise.

Things have been so busy that I've had difficulty finding time to scrapbook. Over the weekend, I was finally able to sit down for a while and scrap. How Fun!! Little Bo Peep LOs

Here are 2 LOs I did with the Kit Little Bo Peep (Fairy Tale Collection) by One Memory at a Time. This kit is awesome for those little girly LOs. It has the cutest little sheep in it too. All the kits in the Fairy Tale Collection are so cute. You can get them at GDS.

Update on our folks

My parents called me again this morning to let me know (or rather my daughter know) that they found their other cat...she was hiding on top of the sauna my parents have in the basement. She is SO scared and will not come down yet, so they put some food and water up there for her. Poor baby.

The inspector will be coming today to check out mom/dad's house so they will find out whether they can fix it or if they will have to re-build (on the current foundation).

A clearer picture of the damage: the windows all blown in, so glass is everywhere, but the photos on the wall and all the things that my parents treasure are fine. Mom's scrapbooking stuff was all set up under the windown in her scrapping room, but is UNDAMAGED (not even blown all over, it is just where she left it!)....even being right below the window. All of her old photos are also untouched. The hole....is acutally a hole in the roof over the entryway....also part of the wall in the garage is gone, and the 3 vehicles all have some sort of damage, but are all drivable.

Cheri and Mike are on their way there (and one of my cousins and her husband are already there to help out. I wish I could go, but I can't....not with 3 children (ages 2, 6, and 9).

For those friends of ours who haven't heard Parkersburg, IA (the town our parents live in) was hit by a tornado at about 5:30 last evening. Our family is shaken but they are all OK. We will post more when we know more.

Beckie has an awesome new kit out called Save the Last Dance. It is avaliable at both Digital Candy & SAS. I did a LO of Emily's first Dance with it. She was only 6 months old and danced with Grampy to a song called "Daddy's Little Girl".

Hi,

After talking to my sister Cheri, we decided to put a blog together so that we could both use it for our scrapbooking stuff. :) We will both be posing our LOs as well as CT stuff.
